Description of Work Unit
Trades Maintenance Services supports Facilities Management, Administration Services, and Colorado State University Strategic Plans to create and maintain an aesthetically pleasing and functional environment that meets or exceeds the University’s needs for instruction, research and outreach.
Within the limits of its allocated resources, Trades Maintenance Services (quality trades and maintenance services) supports structural, mechanical, electrical and small construction project management.
The Carpenter Shop ensures that the cosmetic and structural components of the academic and administrative buildings are repaired and maintained to provide a safe and functional environment. This is accomplished by modifying, repairing, fabricating, installing, and constructing to comply with applicable codes and CSU building construction standards ( BCSM ).
Position is required to maintain, throughout the course of employment, all building access granted through security and other clearances to appropriately serve and maintain buildings that fall under the responsibility of Facilities Management to monitor and maintain.
Position Summary
This position provides maintenance, repair, fabrication and installation services to structural and cosmetic systems and components, which in part include: ceiling, walls, doors, roofs, glass, cabinets, carpet and hard surface flooring concrete, and masonry.
Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must demonstrate in the application materials:
Experience Only:
• Four (4) years of full-time experience in commercial construction or carpentry performing tasks such as installing, repairing, or maintaining floors, doors, windows, hard surfaces, ceilings, etc.
OR
Education and Experience:
• A combination of related education, formalized apprenticeship program, and/or commercial construction or carpentry performing tasks such as installing, repairing, or maintaining floors, doors, windows, hard surfaces, ceilings, etc experience equal to four (4) years.*Please note, unofficial or official transcripts must be attached if utilizing education to meet the minimum qualifications.
