    Position Overview and Responsibilities:

    OPS Park Attendant Cabin Support 37970345

     

    This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated, hard-working individual seeking a challenging and rewarding position as an OPS Park Attendant at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. The applicant must possess good visitor service and administrative skills, be able to work independently and the ability to perform a variety of skilled trade functions using assorted equipment and tools. The applicant must be able to work Sunday and Monday.

     

    The incumbent is responsible for cleaning cabins to ensure a safe and welcoming facility for our overnight guests.

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    KNOWLEDGE OF:

    + Grounds keeping duties

    + Providing high level customer service

    + Housekeeping to include, mopping, scrubbing and cleaning bathrooms, washing laundry, folding linen etc.

    + General maintenance and inspections of facilities and equipment

    + Basic computer skills to be able to fill in short reports

    SKILL IN:

    + Using various hand tools

    + Power tools

    + Operation of vehicles to include ATVs, UTVs, golf carts, trucks

    + Operation of weed eaters, blowers, and similar landscape equipment

    ABILITY TO:

    + Effectively communicate verbally and in writing

    + Work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays

    + Understand and apply rules, directives, laws, regulations and policies

    + Effectively work with others

    + Learn two-way radio communication equipment

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Valid Driver’s License

    Position of Special Trust Requirement:

    This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.

    Pay:

    $15.00 per hour

    The park consists of 1,638 acres on the narrow strip of land between Choctawhatchee Bay and the Gulf of America. The park has 3.2 miles of pristine beach along the Gulf of America and contains four coastal dune lakes entirely within the park boundaries. The park is home to the largest campground in the Florida State Park system. Facilities include 156 campsites, 34 cabins, 22 tent campsites, 3 bathhouses, laundry facility, beach tram operation, 15 miles of trails, clubhouse and amphitheater. The park is a very popular spot for bicycling, beach combing, swimming, picnicking, canoeing, wildlife viewing and fishing.
