Honeywell is seeking an **External Communications Manager** to support its External Communications team. The role will be based in **Charlotte, NC** and operate on a **hybrid (3 days in office, 2 remote)** work schedule. This role will report to the Senior Director of External Communications for Honeywell Corporate.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of working in a major corporate environment, who adapts quickly to changing circumstances and possesses strong writing skills, project management and business acumen. The candidate must be able to work autonomously, provide strategic communications counsel to stakeholders, execute sound public/media relations tactics, and think strategically.
The External Communications Manager will lead and support various Corporate Communications tasks, including media relations and monitoring for corporate stakeholders as well as communications related to crises, labor and reputational issues. The Manager will also lead the internal metrics reporting for the team and manage reporting, provide tactical support for financial announcements (including earnings), and assist with wire releases as well as handle specific, time-sensitive tasks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Manage and write communications and statements for a variety of crises, labor, and reputational issues
+ Manage communications for M&A, earnings and other financial communications
+ Lead team analytics tracking and reporting for leadership (monthly and quarterly)
+ Lead tactical support for quarterly earnings media outreach and monitoring
+ Monitor media for reputational issues
+ Collaborate with Sr. Director, Corporate Communications to create PR campaigns for corporate initiatives
+ Lead and maintain relationships with news wire service
+ Oversee distribution of daily and weekly coverage reports
+ Write/edit press releases and post them to the newswire
+ Assist in media outreach
+ Other tasks as identified
YOU MUST HAVE:
+ 6+ years of communications or public relations experience developing, implementing, and measuring communications plans and programs
+ Experience working in large, complex organizations with diverse products
+ Strong interpersonal skills to develop relationships with both internal and external audiences
+ Ability to provide independent, strategic communications counsel to our internal stakeholders on PR and reputational issues management
+ Excellent project management and the ability to simultaneously prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
+ Proven ability to work flexibly and adapt, given the unpredictable nature of crises and issues
+ Fluency in PR practices and tactics, particularly with digital communications channels, to drive thought leadership and customer engagement
+ The ability to excel as part of a team or individually
+ Positive attitude and willingness to embrace and drive change
+ Ability to work effectively with leaders at different levels of the organization
+ Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
+ Experience dealing with the media/knowledge of the media landscape
+ Experience with AP Style writing standards
