• Public Relations Coordinator

    Job Description

    This role is all about being hands-on and adaptable. You’ll be writing and editing press releases, media pitches, and LinkedIn copy, while also helping with event planning and logistics. You’ll support the team by creating PowerPoint presentations, coordinating with vendors and agency partners, and tracking deliverables, timelines, and budgets. You’ll also monitor media coverage, respond to social media requests, and help prepare reports on campaign performance and brand mentions.

     

    On any given day, you might be juggling 3–5 projects, so being organized and flexible is key. You’ll work closely with senior leadership to support presentations and communications, and you’ll play a role in community initiatives like our biannual recognition program for service members and first responders. This is a new role on a lean team, so your contributions will be meaningful and visible. It starts part-time, but there’s a strong chance it could grow into a full-time position.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    2-4 years of experience in PR or Marketing

     

    Bachelor’s degree in PR, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing

     

    Strong writing and editing skills

     

    Comfortable drafting press releases, LinkedIn copy, and media pitches

     

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially PowerPoint)

     

    Able to juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment Familiarity with media relations and securing national coverage

     

    Knows how to spot trends and pitch stories effectively

     

    Experience working with reporters or journalists

     

    Comfortable using tools like Asana (not required)

     

    Open to using AI tools—our team encourages innovation

     

    Prior agency or in-house PR experience

     

    Strong presentation support skills (written and visual)
