    Position Title: Program Manager

     

    School: NYU School of Global Public Health

     

    Schedule: Full-Time

     

    Dates: November 17, 2025 - March 31, 2026 with the possibility of an extension

     

    The Program Manager will support Dr. Stephanie Cook’s research program in the Health Disparities Lab, which focuses on intersectionality, stress processes, spatial context, and cardiometabolic health among marginalized populations. Studies involve mixed-methods approaches (e.g., ecological momentary assessment, actigraphy, GPS, biomarker data), digital and social media research, and community-engaged partnerships. The Program Manager will play a central role in coordinating domestic and international research activities, supporting grant-funded projects, managing regulatory requirements, and assisting with dissemination.

    Responsibilities

    + Coordinate preparation, implementation, and monitoring of data collection, including development/testing of surveys and tools (Qualtrics and/or REDCap), monitoring activities, and producing regular reports.

    + Manage data cleaning and organization; perform basic statistical analyses (summary statistics, chi-square, regression, t-tests); code qualitative interviews; and support integrated mixed-methods analysis.

    + Assist with dissemination of findings by preparing tables/figures, contributing to manuscripts and abstracts, formatting submissions, and creating posters and presentations for conferences.

    + Maintain study budgets, track expenditures, and liaise with the PI, project directors, and institutional partners regarding invoices and financial projections.

    + Oversee IRB submissions and renewals in the US and partner sites; track ethics certifications; and manage clinical trial or registry documentation.

    + Maintain study documentation and regulatory files in a clear and organized manner.

    + Organize and participate in team calls and meetings, record and distribute minutes, and track tasks and deliverables.

    + Communicate frequently with study teams in the US and abroad via email, video conferencing, and messaging platforms.

    + Support future grant submissions, including checklists, administrative components, copyediting, and formatting.

    + Supervise and coordinate student research assistants as needed.

    + Provide additional support to the PI and lab leadership as required.

    Required

    + MPH or equivalent degree with at least 3 years of relevant experience.

    + Experience with primary data collection (qualitative and/or quantitative).

    + Strong knowledge of research ethics, IRB processes, and data security.

     

    Preferred

     

    + Experience contributing to grant writing and submissions.

    + Familiarity with data collection platforms (SurveyCTO, Qualtrics, REDCap).

    + Experience coding qualitative data.

    + Experience with mixed-methods or global health research.

    + Experience working in community-engaged or resource-limited settings.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to independently perform basic statistical analyses (Stata, R, or similar).

    + Experience with IRB submissions and research compliance.

    + Strong data management and cleaning skills.

    + Excellent scientific writing and editing ability.

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

    + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

    + Initiative and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

    + Cultural sensitivity and experience working with diverse populations.

    + Ability to travel domestically and internationally for conferences and meetings.

    In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $65,000 - $80,000.
