THIS ROLE REQUIRES 4 DAYS IN OFFICE IN OUR ATLANTA LOCATION.
We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Workday Extend Developer to join our dynamic HR team. This role will focus on developing customized applications using the Workday Extend platform, helping to extend the native capabilities of Workday to meet unique organizational needs.
As a Workday Extend Developer, you will play a key role in shaping business-critical applications by leveraging Workday's developer tools and frameworks. You will work closely with HR, Finance, IT, and other cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions within the Workday ecosystem. This position requires strong knowledge of core design principles, common data modeling and patterns, project implementation methodology and a successful record of delivering high-quality Workday solutions.
The Workday Extend Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining solutions deployed within Workday. It also requires expertise in troubleshooting complex issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring data security and compliance. Additionally, the developer will proactively identify opportunities for process automation, system enhancements, and integration efficiencies to support the evolving needs of the business.
Responsibilities:
+ Drive application development through design, build, and deployment of Workday Extend applications tailored to business needs and develop reusable, modular components following Workday best practices and security standards.
+ Lead the design, build, and testing of Workday Extend
+ Integrate Workday Extend applications with other Workday modules and external systems via Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).
+ Create and maintain governance and demand management approach to ensure a well-maintained tenant
+ Collaborate with integration teams to ensure end-to-end data flow and process automation.
+ Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
+ Work with business to analyze, research, debug and resolve Workday related issues.
+ Identify opportunities to enhance performance, automate processes, and improve system efficiency.
+ Ensure all designs adhere to security best practices, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
+ Lead integration testing activities, prepare test scripts, conduct Unit and UAT testing.
+ Thoroughly document Extend processes, configurations for future reference
+ Utilize a continuous improvement approach by staying current with Workday’s latest features, updates, and Extend capabilities, and proposing and driving continuous improvement ideas to optimize Workday solutions.
+ Experience working in Agile environments, managing multiple projects, and meeting deadlines.
Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
+ 4+ years of experience in Workday development, including Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIBs, Web Services (SOAP, REST), Extend, and Workday APIs.
+ Prior Workday Extend experience, developing at least 2+ app use cases required.
Skills and Competencies:
+ Hands-on Workday experience developing and supporting end-to-end solutions across multiple functions, such as Core HCM, Compensation, Recruiting, Learning, Finance, Benefits, IT and Procurement
+ Experience in all phases of the technology implementation lifecycle (requirements gathering, design, build, testing, and launch)
+ Experience in leading a design session, reviewing, and assisting in the creation of project deliverables
+ Familiar with XML Transformations, Namespaces, XSD
+ Experience in dealing with SOAP and REST APIs
+ Familiar with ServiceNow case management
+ Adept working with agile methodologies and delivery
+ Effective communication skills in explaining complex concepts in simple terms and understanding HR internal and vendor processes
+ Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
