We are looking for an experienced Financial Analyst to join our WW Deals and Promotions Finance team. Promotions are integral to Amazon’s ability to deliver on its everyday low-price promise to customers. With millions of products available on Amazon, Promotions develops technology to create, message, and calculate discounts for promotional campaigns for all Amazon websites world-wide as well as those of our e-commerce partners. Our systems are invoked by website shopping applications hundreds of millions of times each day!
The Financial Analyst will drive financial modeling, month-end processes, strategic analyses, free-cash-flow initiatives, and will standardize global promotions metrics. The successful candidate will have excellent analytical, financial modelling, and planning skills. They will also possess strong business partnership and project management skills and collaborate effectively with stakeholders. The candidate will also have a high bias for action, passion to learn and be curious in a complex space, and ability to influence cross-functionally (e.g., with Product Managers).
Key job responsibilities
- Work closely with Promotions team to set up, execute, and analyze strategic initiatives to drive long term free cash flow
- Provide critical insights to the Promotions leadership team by owning weekly and monthly reporting processes. Build and maintain financial and operational reports to inform business decision-making, ensuring completeness and accuracy with support from peers and managers
- Develop in-depth knowledge across key business areas by staying current on initiatives and developing challenges/opportunities across the business
- Develop metrics reporting and audit mechanisms to measure the accuracy of newly launched programs and initiatives
- Extract and validate data from multiple sources, identifying and resolving discrepancies while escalating complex issues appropriately
A day in the life
This role will own end-to-end financial reporting and analysis for promotions, working backwards from customer needs to deliver actionable insights. This includes building scalable financial models and conducting deep-dive analyses to uncover variance drivers and identify opportunities for optimization. The role will partner with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies to implement best practices and drive standardization at scale. The role will deliver written and verbal communications that are data-driven, concise, and compelling to influence senior leadership decisions.

The WW Deals and Promotions Finance team supports Amazon's global promotional activities, helping ensure we deliver value to our customers while maintaining financial discipline.
Basic Qualifications
- 1+ years of finance experience
- Experience with SQL
- Experience in Excel (macros, index, conditional list, arrays, pivots, lookups)
- Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting and reporting
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL and VBA skills
- Experience using data to influence business decisions
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse and SQL
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $51,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $109,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
