The Idaho Department of Insurance (https://doi.idaho.gov/) (DOI) is looking for a star to fill its full-time Technical Records Specialist 1 position.
TheDepartment of Insurance (DOI)is seeking a Technical Records Specialist 1 in the Licensing section (https://doi.idaho.gov/industry/licensing-services/) . Ideal candidates are those who are detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with excellent customer service skills! The selected candidate will be one of the four key players working with the Licensing Supervisor in the Company Activities Bureau.
This Technical Records Specialist 1 position works with insurance professionals submitting applications or renewing licenses via an electronic system for over twelve different license types; assists vendors in maintaining compliant continuing education courses; provides information and education to customers on Licensing protocols and procedures in a professional and courteous manner.
All positions in this section are cross-trained, which helps build skills and confidence to support the Licensing team and Idahoans. Each team member performs work independently answering questions from insurance professionals by phone, email, etc. This role will have the support of a strong, cohesive team. The agency encourages staff growth and development as motivated staff members are encourages to take paid trainings to receive industry related designations.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
+ Checks daily mail for payments and distribute;
+ Uses proprietary software to complete work in a variety of functional areas;
+ Uses a digital filing system;
+ Reviews website forms/templates and section transaction procedures for needed updates and may perform those updates;
+ Develops and provides reports and correspondence;
+ Consults licensees and other section of the Department regarding licensing issues;
+ Provides outstanding customer service by phone, in-person, and through email;
+ Participates in meetings, trainings, industry conference calls, and webinars to learn about insurance topics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Good knowledge of:
+ Monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors; Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience where monitoring a records system and fixing errors was a primary responsibility of the job.
+ Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues; Typically gained by at least one (1) year of experience performing extensive research and analysis of highly complex or technical material requiring in-depth program knowledge in order to determine if requirements were met and if they complied with established laws and/or policies. Research would include contacting a variety of sources both inside and outside the organization to obtain and verify information in order to determine the appropriate course of action and outside the organization to obtain and verify information in order to determine the appropriate course of action.
+ Interpreting, explaining, and applying regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments; Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full-time work experience reviewing documents or actions for compliance with laws, regulations, and/or policies AND/OR through explaining to others how laws, regulations or policies apply to specific situations. General reception duties are not at the level required for this position.
+ Entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system; Typically gained by at least one (1) year of full- time work experience where entering and retrieving data in a computerized database was a primary function of the job.
DESIRED CANDIDATEs will have the ability to: (not required):
+ Use effective business English, spelling, punctuation, and grammar to compose and edit documents.
+ Provide excellent customer service and public relations.
+ Maintaining strict confidentiality of non-public information.
+ Analyze, interpret, and explain complex information and documents.
+ Use Adobe Pro (or equivalent) to create and edit PDF documents.
+ Proficiently use Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
The selected candidate will be required to successfully pass a fingerprint background check prior to hire date and every five years thereafter.
