    Job Title: Construction Superintendent

    Job Description

    We are seeking a dedicated Construction Superintendent to join our dynamic traveling department, initially focusing on a student housing and dining hall project. This role involves overseeing site operations, ensuring safety standards, coordinating projects, and maintaining quality assurance.

    Responsibilities

    + Present daily to set expectations, assign responsibilities, and uphold commitments.

    + Review design documents for constructability, phasing, protection, logistics, and field issues; recommend efficient construction methods.

    + Define and enforce standards for safety, quality, housekeeping, and conduct.

    + Develop site-specific safety plans addressing unique hazards.

    + Conduct safety orientations for all site entrants; emphasize safety over speed.

    + Lead regular safety discussions with contractors; address violations promptly.

    + Investigate incidents and enforce disciplinary actions when necessary.

    + Manage site logistics: traffic, equipment, staging.

    + Collaborate with PM, client, and contractors to plan and execute work per schedule.

    + Facilitate progress meetings and ensure timely initiation and completion of trade work.

    + Guide interpretation of construction documents; ensure compliance with specs.

    + Set quality expectations through pre-installation meetings.

    + Coordinate permitting and inspections; maintain punch lists and verify completion.

    + Approve timesheets and requisitions for emergency purchases.

    + Submit daily reports covering progress, weather, safety, and challenges.

    + Monitor project status vs. goals; adjust strategy as needed.

    + Resolve disputes by aligning solutions with contract terms.

    + Complete trade contractor evaluations and required training.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum five (5) years of commercial construction experience in a leadership role as a Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

    + Experience with large projects, especially those valued at $5 million or more.

    + Proficiency in safety management with an OSHA 30 certification.

    + Proficiency in Procore and construction scheduling.

    + Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

    + Knowledge of job cost accounting and ability to analyze financial reports.

    + Ability to manage and plan work activities effectively.

    + Strong focus on safety and promoting a safe culture across teams and contractors.

    + Familiar with site requirements, tools, methods, and materials across trade divisions.

    + Clear and fast written and verbal communication with diverse audiences.

    + Advanced skills in construction scheduling, cost control, and supervising large trade groups.

    + Excellent time management and organizational skills.

    + Builds strong relationships with owners, architects, and contractors.

    + Effective leadership and conflict resolution skills within project teams.

    + Committed to team-based planning and collaborative problem-solving.

    + Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, Procore, and basic BIM tools.

    Work Environment

    This role is open to local or traveling candidates. Each superintendent will oversee approximately $1 million worth of work per month. The position typically involves a day shift from 7 AM to 4 PM, with occasional Saturdays. You will oversee a team of 35 contractors on a project with a total value of $500 million.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00/hr.
