    Job Title: Emissions TechnicianJob Description

     

    We are seeking dedicated Emissions Technicians to join our team, focusing on EPA testing for mileage and emission standards. As an Associate Technician, you will utilize your basic knowledge, skills, and formal education in core technical areas to assist in engineering projects. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals with some formal education and a willingness to learn, as you will handle basic project assignments under supervision.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and perform emission testing on vehicles.

    + Evaluate test results and recommend corrective actions.

    + Operate and drive test vehicles on site.

    + Manage multiple tests in a day, depending on requirements.

    Essential Skills

    + Strong interpersonal and relationship leadership skills.

    + Emerging partnership and teamwork skills.

    + Ability to learn from and share knowledge with co-workers in a fast-paced environment.

    + High level of attention to detail due to extensive test parameters.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Automotive industry experience is preferred but not required.

    + An associate degree or certification from a trade school is preferred.

    + Candidates with relevant chassis dyno experience or similar automotive testing will be considered first.

    + Experience in automotive quality, quality control, or as a quality technician is beneficial.

    + Hands-on technical experience in industrial settings such as robotics, controls, quality control, manufacturing, and testing is advantageous.

    + Experience with AVL, Horiba, or Burke Porter is a plus.

    + Understanding of Global Manufacturing System principles.

    Work Environment

    This position is based on-site at the Milford Proving Grounds, which features engineering centers, test labs, garages, and test tracks. The chassis dyno lab is equipped with both state-of-the-art and legacy test equipment. The role requires full-time presence on-site and offers the opportunity to work on new technology critical to emissions certification. Employees can work various shifts, with flexibility in shift preferences.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Milford Charter Township, Michigan.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.50/hr.
