Job Title: Design EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a talented Design Engineer to join our team, where you will be responsible for designing and developing equipment to meet engineering and customer specifications. You will create comprehensive design specifications, models, and layouts, and provide support throughout the machine build and installation process.

Responsibilities

+ Identify equipment change points using current equipment drawings and new model part prints to meet engineering and customer specifications.

+ Develop design specification documents, concept models, and line layouts.

+ Engage in machine design, modeling, component sizing, specification, and part detailing.

+ Create project documentation, including Bill of Material, Spare Parts Lists, Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Assembly Procedures, Check Sheets, Repair Procedures, and Project Schedules.

+ Perform engineering calculations to determine machine cycle time, FEA, static/dynamic accuracy, and component sizing.

+ Provide support for machine build and installation.

Essential Skills

+ Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for creating layouts, concepts, model comparisons, line arrangement drawings, and assembly/detail drawings.

+ Experience in static and dynamic calculations of equipment and components to meet design criteria.

+ Skilled in creating and managing Bills of Material and parts ordering.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for project documentation and communication.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills to report project status and lead meetings.

+ Experience using Microsoft Project and Excel for creating and updating project schedules.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 3 to 5 years of full-time mechanical design/engineering experience in work holding/fixturing, material handling, robotic cell automation, and/or special assembly machine/automation design.

+ Experience in automated equipment and machine design.

+ Background in mechanical engineering and mechanical design.

Work Environment

This position is based onsite at the Anna Engine Plant.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Anna, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
