Job Title: Bakery Operator
Job Description
The Bakery Operator plays a crucial role in the production and packaging process, operating various pieces of equipment and coordinating a team of bakery associates. Under the guidance of the Operations Supervisor, the Bakery Operator is trained to proficiently run select equipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and maintaining product quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure compliance with all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations.
+ Monitor all areas to ensure product quality and adherence to product specifications.
+ Assist with training and cross-training of team members as needed.
+ Provide breaks and lunch rotations to employees when necessary.
+ Continuously improve knowledge of products and production requirements.
+ Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure proper placement of equipment, raw materials, and waste.
+ Monitor finished product quality to eliminate defects and increase throughput.
+ Communicate with team members and supervisors to resolve challenges and improve operational efficiencies.
+ Perform routine safety checks to maintain a safe work environment.
Essential Skills
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ Must be 18 years or older
+ Basic English proficiency
+ Ability to lift and push/pull up to 50 lbs continuously throughout the day
+ Capability to stand for 8–12 hours per shift
+ Experience in performing repetitive tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching
+ Comfort with working in environments with varying temperatures and noise levels
+ Experience in a food manufacturing or related environment (minimum 1 year)
+ Familiarity with food processing and packaging equipment
+ High mechanical aptitude
+ Basic troubleshooting skills
+ Experience with GMPs, Food Safety, and Company Safety policies
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Effective communication skills
+ Ability to read and understand machine manuals, SOPs, and production orders
+ Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Must be able to work overtime and weekends if needed
+ Must wear non-slip (oil/water-rated) safety shoes
+ Compliance with PPE and GMP guidelines

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.75/hr.
