    Job Title: General Mechanic

    Job Description

    As a General Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in assisting our full-time mechanics by fixing equipment as it breaks down and performing preventive maintenance tasks. Your responsibilities will include oiling equipment, turning wrenches, and ensuring that all machinery is ready to operate efficiently.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist full-time mechanics with equipment repairs and maintenance.

    + Perform preventive maintenance tasks, such as oiling and ensuring operational readiness of machinery.

    + Demonstrate mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of mechanical systems.

    + Work with pneumatic systems, including air power actuators.

    + Conduct precision alignment of conveyor belts, drive belts, and shaft alignments.

    + Utilize preventive and predictive maintenance techniques, including infrared thermography and infrared thermometers.

    + Troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise.

    + Adhere to safety and compliance standards at all times.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanical aptitude with a basic understanding of mechanical systems.

    + Experience with pneumatic systems and precision alignment.

    + Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance.

    + Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues effectively.

    + Commitment to safety and compliance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, though candidates with mechanical classes or experience working around farm equipment may be considered.

    + General mechanical skills and inclination.

    + Experience with farm hand type work is beneficial.

    Work Environment

    The work schedule is from 6 am to 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday. Initially, this position will operate during the day shift for the summer. However, flexibility is required for potential shift changes during the fall and winter.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Constantine, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
