Job Title: Construction General Laborer
Job Description
We are seeking a diligent Construction General Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, assisting with various construction tasks, and ensuring efficient operations on construction sites. This role requires the ability to perform manual labor and work closely with other trades to complete projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
+ Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards and keep job sites free and clear of rubble and debris.
+ Assist with construction demolition and repairs, restore and install structures such as floors, doors, walls, windows, stairways, decks, and roofs.
+ Operate and perform preventative maintenance on hand power tools.
+ Assist carpenters by retrieving tools and equipment as needed.
+ Install hardware such as locks, hinges, knobs, and closures.
+ Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities.
+ Control traffic passing near, in, and around work zones as needed.
+ Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials.
+ Dig ditches or trenches, and compact and level earth to grade specifications using picks, shovels, and rakes.
+ Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed.
+ Load, unload, and identify building materials, machinery, tools, and other temporary structures.
+ Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps, and other temporary structures.
+ Assist in labor duties for other trades.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in construction, carpentry, and handling hand and power tools.
+ Knowledge of basic carpentry equipment, machines, tools, methods, and materials.
+ Ability to perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
+ Excellent verbal communication and comprehension skills.
+ Proficient in understanding and following written and verbal instructions.
+ Capability to work independently with little supervision.
+ Strong commitment to safety and incident reporting procedures.
+ Dependability and consistency in meeting project schedules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Ability to see and record written information and maintain required record keeping.
+ Ability to wear protective clothing and work long hours, including in inclement weather conditions.
+ Willingness to travel extensively to remote areas, including extended and overnight travel, regardless of the time of year.
Work Environment
This role involves working on various construction sites, requiring the use of hand and power tools. Candidates must be prepared to work in outdoor settings, which may include inclement weather conditions. Protective clothing is required, and candidates must be willing to travel extensively to remote areas for project requirements.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Willmar, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
