Description
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an accomplished Director of Finance to support its Technology and Capital Projects division during an exciting expansion phase, including the planning and development of a new hospital facility.
This is a senior-level consulting engagement ideal for a strategic finance leader who excels in project finance, forecasting, and capital planning — and who can operate as a trusted partner to executives across Finance, IT, and Operations.
The role requires a blend of analytical rigor, strategic insight, and executive communication, with daily interaction at the C-suite and VP level.
Key Responsibilities
+ Serve as the financial advisor and strategic partner to IT leadership, connecting organizational strategy to operational and financial execution.
+ Lead the development of long-range financial models, including technology investments, project timelines, and capital project forecasting for hospital expansion initiatives.
+ Drive budgeting, forecasting, and scenario modeling to inform executive decisions on resource allocation and project prioritization.
+ Translate complex project and technology data into clear financial narratives and recommendations for senior leadership.
+ Support strategic decision-making around capital structure, funding sources, and ROI for major technology and infrastructure projects.
+ Prepare and present financial reports, dashboards, and insights for executive and board-level discussions.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Operations, and Strategy teams to ensure alignment between budgets, forecasts, and project execution.
+ Contribute to organizational change management, helping the team navigate growth and system transitions with clarity and control.
+ Provide mentorship and oversight to staff supporting financial planning and analysis activities.
Requirements
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (MBA or CPA preferred).
+ 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with Director or Controller-level leadership in FP& A, Project Finance, or Strategic Planning.
+ Proven success in partnering with IT or capital project executives in complex organizations — healthcare or higher education experience highly preferred.
+ Exceptional financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills; advanced proficiency in Excel and visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
+ Demonstrated ability to build business cases, evaluate capital projects, and support large-scale technology or infrastructure investments.
+ Strong executive presence — able to distill complex information into concise, persuasive insights.
+ Skilled communicator with the credibility and confidence to engage directly with C-suite and senior stakeholders.
+ Self-directed, strategic, and comfortable managing through ambiguity in a dynamic environment.
Ideal Candidate Attributes
+ Strategic storyteller with the ability to link financial data to organizational vision.
+ Confident leader who can influence, advise, and collaborate across all levels.
+ Exceptional organizational awareness and business acumen.
+ Thrives in high-growth, fast-changing environments where structure is being built.
+ Comfortable serving as both strategic partner and hands-on operator.
