    As a Group Product Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly motivated Product Managers (PdM) that will work with cross-functional teams to shape the future of capacity management tools and services. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse set of customers and technologies to directly influence the design of foundational building blocks for Azure. Your work influences the efficiency and scalability of services used by millions worldwide. You will gather requirements, validate with customers, and support the team in modeling how services communicate with the platform. You will also be responsible for tracking technical issues, finding solutions for problems as they arise, driving delivery of features to completion, lead technical design and architecture discussions, and deliver on a set of business and engineering targets including application telemetry, performance, reliability, resilience, security, and compliance. This opportunity will allow you to collaborate with multiple partner teams across functions and levels during various stages of the product lifecycle, to develop deep technical skills, to build data analysis and monitoring acumen, and to receive mentorship from an experienced and diverse product team.

    Responsibilities

    + Create innovations and best practices that help teams define business impact across the organization and track success criteria for multiple feature areas. Act as a thought leader to help teams identify long-term opportunities and will ensure teams engage partners to garner support for those feature areas.

    + Oversee teams and establish best practices to define a feature set and facilitate executive-level customer reviews. Define the strategy for teams owning the roadmap for multiple feature areas, and ensure teams maintain long-term, strategic direction.

    + Oversee and provide best practices for teams to partner with Corporate Vice President's in other departments to collect performance metrics and form hypotheses for technical needs in order to measurably improve product development industry-wide. You’ll also provide leading expertise to ensure teams build trust and engagement with our customer community.

    + Managers deliver success through empowerment and accountability by modeling, coaching, and caring. Model: Live our culture. Embody our values. Practice our leadership principles.     + Ensures teams identify features to deprecate. Holds teams accountable for developing, articulating, and presenting reasoning and tradeoffs involved in deprecations. Ensures teams work with Public Relations/Product Marketing on messaging to customers. Ensures teams communicate change accurately and lead the vision for customer transition.

    + Provides strategic direction to teams in identifying data-informed, long-term investment opportunities, evaluating tradeoffs, and prioritizing investments in consultation with cross divisional partners for feature(s)/feature areas (e.g., product, service). Ensures teams determine features or experiences to prioritize in the roadmap that will support achievement of success criteria and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

    Qualifications

    Required Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's Degree AND 10+ years experience in product/service/program management or software development

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 5+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

    + 5+ years of experience shipping enterprise-quality products and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.

    + 3+ years people management experience.

    + 1+ years of technical background and foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design

    Other Requirements:

    + Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

    + Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

    + **Preferred Qualifications:**

    + Bachelor's Degree AND 12+ years of experience in product/service/project/program management or software development

    + OR equivalent experience.

    + 5+ years people management experience.

    + 8+ year of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, product development OR equivalent experience.

    + 1+ years of experience with HPC, GPU, or other low latency technologies

     

    Product Management M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $163,000 - $296,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $220,800 - $331,200 per year.
