    Job Summary:

    Responsible at a regional level for managing educational resources and programs in multiple ministries, including various health care delivery systems (ambulatory care, acute care, continuum of care, and long-term care).

    Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Seeks to provide continual educational opportunities for the team and is a resource to the ministries for the enrichment of others. Provides leadership and management of multiple unit educators or team members, including work assignment, hiring, evaluating, coaching and terminating in consultation with leadership.

    + Coordinates and participates in the assessment of learning needs, design, and implementation of plans to measure and improve performance, and evaluation of outcomes.

    + Implements strategies to promote the utilization and compliance of the Donna Wright Competency Model across the region, and supporting leaders with certification requirements and the Learning Management System.

    + Identifies, plans, and implements key changes to improve quality, reduce costs, increase Clinical Educator productivity, and reduce waste in order to promote wellness among the team and satisfaction among the clinical customers; great focus is placed on clinical leaders through change management when involving standardization and systemization.

    + Seeks to provide continual educational opportunities for the team and is a resource to the ministries for the enrichment of others. Coordinates and participates in the assessment of learning needs, design and implementation of plans to measure and improve performance, and evaluation of outcomes.

    + Contributes to the development, maintenance, and currency of education, educational materials, and training of large regional and system education deliveries, with a focus on onboarding and professional development programs. Participates in budget planning and management.

    + Collaborates frequently with ministry and regional nurse executives for program planning and outcome measures. Consultatively supports regulatory action plans and RCAs, and provides leadership when education is required for action plans.

    + Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in health care to nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is delivered based on patient’s age-specific needs and clinical needs as described in the department's Scope of Service.

    + As an SSM Health nurse, I will demonstrate the professional nursing standards defined in the professional practice model. Uses the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses to guide his/her response to the current and evolving health and nursing needs of our patients and our patient populations.

    + Performs other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION

    + Bachelor's degree in nursing

    EXPERIENCE

    + Five years' experience in nursing, with demonstrated progressive leadership

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    + Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.

    + Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.

    + Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.

    + Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.

    + Frequent keyboard use/data entry.

    + Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.

    + Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.

    + Rare climbing.
