Senior IT Technician, CEC
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior IT Technician, Customer Engagement Centers (CEC), is responsible for providing advanced technical and functional support to CEC offices. This role manages complex technical requests through the ticketing system and serves as a subject matter expert for the installation, maintenance, and repair of CEC hardware systems, network infrastructure, telephony, and software support. Operating with limited supervision, the Senior IT Technician exercises significant initiative and independent judgment. The position collaborates with operations teams, leadership, and other technology enablement groups to support technology planning, implementation, and crisis management activities.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Education and Experience Required:
+ Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of work experience, education, technical training, or certifications 5+ years’ experience supporting desktops in a corporate environment, with technical specialization in PC support and a strong understanding of network infrastructure
+ Extensive knowledge of Windows and Mac desktop operating systems Experience with Microsoft Office (including Access), SharePoint, Smart Deploy, and PDQ Preferred: A+, N+, and/or Microsoft certifications
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
+ Manage and resolve technical support tickets for hardware, telephony, and software, ensuring compliance with response and resolution SLAs and proper documentation.
+ Oversee ticket queue for timely and consistent handling across the regional team. Image, deploy, and install computers, telephony equipment, software, cabling, and peripherals.
+ Monitor systems to ensure CEC workstations meet security standards and required applications are installed.
+ Perform installation, maintenance, and minor repairs of hardware/software; coordinate warranty or external support as needed; mentor junior team members.
+ Lead or support technical projects with cross-functional teams.
+ Document SOPs and troubleshooting procedures.
+ Serve as the primary CEC technical contact during crises and provide application support as assigned.
+ Act as main contact for building systems (UPS, generator, security systems).
+ Escalate complex issues to higher support tiers as necessary.
+ Demonstrate advanced technical knowledge, troubleshooting, and deployment skills, including Windows scripting and VDE support (VMware Horizon, Airwatch, thin clients).
+ Support remote associates and distinguish between network and desktop issues, collaborating with engineers as needed. Ensure information security and regulatory compliance in all activities.
+ Handle escalated tickets independently, contacting vendors when required.
+ Remain calm and professional under pressure, maintaining urgency and accuracy in diagnoses.
+ Communicate diagnostic findings and inconsistencies to product owners.
+ Stay current with industry trends and update skills.
+ Work with business leaders to align technology solutions with organizational goals.
