    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field and three (3) years of completed Postdoctoral Fellow research experience.

    Job Description:

    The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position.

    Job Duties:

    + Plan and perform experiments independently

    + Prepare lab reports

    + Writes protocol

    + Interacts with graduate students

    + Capable of presenting data at meetings

    + Performs related duties as assigned

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    + Ability to plan and perform experiments independently

    + Ability to observe and record experiments/research and report accurately

    + Writing skills for protocols, reports, journal manuscripts and funding applications

    + Able to plan and perform experiments in an independent manner with minimal supervision

    + Able to write papers, protocols, and lab reports associated with project

    + Mentoring and teaching skills for interaction with graduate students

    + Presentation Skills

    Budget Responsibility:

    + In some cases, planning and overseeing laboratory research budget.

    + Decision -Making Responsibility:

    + Responsible for decisions regarding research

    Equipment:

    + Standard office equipment and specialized tools related to research.

    Working Environment/Location of position:

    + Standard office and laboratory environment at UTMB’s main campus or other locations.

    Salary Range:

    Commensurate with experience
