The CNC Machinist on 2nd Shift will perform tasks associated with the machining of molded Thermoplastic and Thermoset materials used in the Aerospace and Industrial industries. This position is responsible for operation of CNC machining centers and performing simple set-ups on CNC machines.

2nd Shift (Monday-Friday, 2:30pm-11:00pm)

+ The CNC Machinist will have the ability to read the customer router and successfully set-up the machine and run it to first piece inspection with little to no supervision.

+ Use safe practices and comply with all company policies, procedures and health, safety and environmental regulations, as required.

+ Conduct safety observations and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) activities as required by our plant EHS program. Handle raw material in an environmentally responsible manner.

+ Follow all safety requirements pertaining to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and operation of equipment.

+ Maintains work space before, during, and after each scheduled shift in accordance with 5S principles.

+ Complete all paperwork correctly, legibly and honestly.

+ Contribute towards continuous improvement processes and projects in the areas of output, quality, cost and delivery.

+ Ability to identify and escalate problems as they arise within the department.

+ Demonstrate efficiency in operating CNC equipment with little supervision.

+ Make quality parts that meet customer specifications and deadlines, with minimal scrap, in a fast paced work environment.

+ Follow Saint-Gobain principles of conduct and action, and exemplify the Saint-Gobain Attitudes.

+ 1+ year of experience working on CNC machines with the ability to set-up and run from start to first piece approval with little assistance required

+ Setting up a job independently, making adjustments to a machine program and troubleshooting

+ Assist in identifying quality issues within the cell

+ Proficient in measuring using calipers, micrometers, height stands, CMM, etc.

+ Demonstrate understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T

+ Contribute to team effort by performing other supporting tasks as directed by the Production Supervisor or Cell Lead

Physical Demands are:

• Vision - important if color distinction, visual inspection, measuring/assembling at distance close to eye is essential to job

• Reading and Writing - Expressing or receiving detailed information by nonverbal means

• Climb/Balance - important if the amount and kind of climbing or balancing required exceeds that required for ordinary locomotion

• Bend/Stoop/Kneel/Crouch/Crawl -important if it occurs to a considerable degree and requires full use of the lower extremities and back muscles

• Standing/Walking: Particularly for sustained periods of time

• Sitting: Particularly for sustained periods of time

• Finger/Grasp/Handle/Feel: Working, primarily with fingers

• Talk/Hear: Expressing or receiving detailed information by means of the spoken word • Repetitive Motions: Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
