    Job Title: Technical Writer

    Job Description

    We are seeking a Technical Writer with a strong electrical engineering to join our dynamic team. This role is critical to supporting documentation efforts for major aerospace programs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electronics, circuit design, and aerospace standards, and will be responsible for producing high-quality technical documentation that meets FAA and industry requirements.

    Responsibilities

    + Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical manuals, and engineering change reports.

    + Translate complex electrical engineering concepts into clear, concise documentation for internal and external stakeholders.

    + Collaborate with engineering teams to document changes such as component replacements on PCBs due to supply chain constraints.

    + Interpret and annotate electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and system layouts.

    + Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, EMI standards, and aerospace documentation protocols.

    + Support documentation for low-voltage motor systems, voltage spike mitigation, and circuit board revisions.

    + Manage multiple documentation projects with deadlines in Q4 and Q1.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience in technical writing within the aerospace or aviation industry.

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings.

    + Familiarity with FAA documentation standards, EMI compliance, and aerospace certification processes.

    + Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.

    + Experience with documentation tools such as Adobe FrameMaker, MS Word, Visio, or similar platforms.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).

    + Experience working on commercial aircraft systems.

    + Knowledge of supply chain documentation and engineering change management.

    + Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

    Work Environment

    This is a remote role with first preference given to candidates in Florida, followed by those on the East Coast. The position involves working on exciting new products, with potential for extension beyond an initial six-month period.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract position based out of Boca Raton, Florida.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
