    Job Title: CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    Join our team as a CNC Machinist where you will operate machines running on MasterCam software, including 3 and 4 axis Mills. Our company, known for its healthy mix of commercial and defense contracts, is experiencing impressive growth rates of 20-40% annually. The majority of our work, approximately 95%, involves sheet metal machining.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate 3 and 4 axis vertical and horizontal CNC Mills efficiently.

    + Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.

    + Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.

    + Set up machines by installing pallets, vises, tombstones, and fixtures.

    + Follow verbal machine operation instructions from the department lead.

    + Assess drawings and manufacturing planning for machining requirements.

    + Carefully load parts into machines, operate control panels, and unload parts.

    + Deburr and arrange finished parts in boxes or on pallets, sometimes running two machines at once.

    + Monitor features and dimensions on each component run.

    + Support supervisors in running production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspecting quality parts for conformance.

    + Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances.

    + Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machines as required.

    + Keep equipment and work areas clean and orderly, performing basic preventative maintenance.

    + Adhere to state and federal laws, Company Quality Program and procedures, and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in CNC machining and blueprint reading.

    + Experience with 3 and 4 axis milling machines.

    + Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

    + Familiarity with GD&T.

    + Expertise in using precision measuring tools.

    + Competence in basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.

    + Skill in setting up machines with various fixtures.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with sheet metal machining is highly desirable.

    + Programming skills in CNC machining, particularly with Haas and Fanuc, are advantageous.

    + Ability to follow verbal instructions and assess manufacturing planning requirements.

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
