Description

We are looking for a dedicated Plant Controller to join our team in Salinas, California. This role involves overseeing key accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory management, and general ledger functions, while ensuring compliance with financial standards. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in supporting audits, preparing detailed reports, and collaborating across departments to drive operational and financial improvements.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly and annual financial statements to ensure proper reporting.

• Analyze financial variances and provide management with actionable insights and recommendations.

• Partner with operations and production teams to identify inefficiencies, improve processes, and conduct complex financial analyses.

• Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain reporting integrity.

• Provide financial consultation and education to department leaders to support informed decision-making.

• Supervise, train, and mentor accounting staff to ensure efficiency and accuracy in their work.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts to maintain accurate financial records.

• Manage the period-end closing process, ensuring adherence to deadlines.

• Develop forecasts for income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.

• Collaborate with IT to address system issues and enhance business systems for evolving needs.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

• CPA certification is preferred but not required.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with advanced expertise in cost accounting.

• Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in Excel and advanced Office applications.

• Familiarity with Dynamics D365 is highly desirable.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to high standards of accuracy and integrity.

• Experience in manufacturing cost accounting and month-end close processes.
