Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our client's team in Portland Metro, Oregon. This long-term contract position offers the opportunity to play a critical role in overseeing financial operations and ensuring accurate reporting within a manufacturing environment. If you excel in managing month-end close processes, general ledger activities, and balance sheet reconciliations, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of financial statements.

• Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all entries are correctly recorded.

• Conduct thorough balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial planning and budgeting initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies in all financial reporting.

• Provide analysis and insights on financial performance to support strategic decision-making.

• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to foster growth and ensure operational efficiency.

• Utilize ERP system to streamline accounting processes and improve financial reporting.

• Monitor manufacturing cost accounting processes to ensure accurate costing and inventory management.

• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the financial operations of the organization.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Controller or similar role within a manufacturing environment.

• Strong expertise in month-end close processes and general ledger management.

• Proficiency in balance sheet account reconciliations and financial analysis.

• Familiarity with ERP systems or similar accounting software.

• Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards, including GAAP.

• Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

• Ability to lead and mentor accounting staff effectively.

• Active or inactive CPA certification is strongly preferred.
