Description

We are looking for an experienced Tax Accountant to join our team in Canton, Massachusetts. In this role, you will apply your expertise to prepare and file tax returns, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide strategic tax planning services to clients. This position is ideal for professionals who excel in public accounting and are skilled at working independently. This is a fulltime opportunity M-F with potential for a hybrid schedule once settled into the role (1-2 days remote.)

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file individual and corporate tax returns with precision and adherence to tax regulations.

• Analyze client financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.

• Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to optimize client financial outcomes.

• Utilize software tools such as CCH ProSystem Fx and QuickBooks for efficient and accurate tax preparation.

• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to provide informed guidance to clients.

• Collaborate with clients to gather necessary documentation and clarify tax-related inquiries.

• Review completed tax returns for accuracy and compliance before submission.

• Assist in resolving tax issues with authorities and provide support during audits.

• Maintain organized records of tax filings and client communications.

• Contribute to the improvement of tax preparation processes and workflows within the team.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax within a public accounting firm

• Proficiency in preparing and filing both individual and corporate tax returns.

• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks.

• Familiarity with current tax laws and regulations.

• CPA certification or eligibility to pursue certification preferred.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple client accounts.

• Strong communication skills for client engagement and collaboration
