Position Description:
Champions a values based culture to promote unit effectiveness. Directs and supervises Patient Services staff in the processing of patients. Supervises scheduling of appointments, patient visits, the receiving of patients, and the maintenance of records; supervises processing of charges for clinic services, filing of insurance claims, responses to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and the maintenance of related information for the department. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Most work is performed according to established procedures; problems of an unusual nature are referred to supervisor.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Oversight of Dental Patient Rep Staff. Reviews patient flow to determine availability of staff and coordination of duties to include providing coverage as deemed necessary.
+ Report any scheduling issues to supervisor. Intervenes and handles issues related o patient problems, concerns, or complaints and takes measures to correct situations.
+ Responsible to review and correct assigned staff time clock entries, making adjustments as deemed necessary.
+ Responsible for auditing of all cash collected daily in the clinic to assure Dental Patient Rep staff balance with axiUm entries and securing cash bags in the safe at the end of shift.
+ Attend meetings which include being part of the committees to assist in improving operational efficiency.
+ Performs other related duties as deemed necessary by immediate supervisor.
+ Serves as back-up to all other PSS positions in clinic.
+ Attends scheduling meetings to review faculty and students schedules to optimize schedule and to eliminate scheduling errors.
+ Reviews and coordinates schedules to maximize utilization of Faculty and students.
+ Remains current with all licensure, certifications and mandatory compliances and trainings required of this position.
+ Adhere to all policies, procedures and practices (Regents Rules, TTUS, HSECEP OPs, etc.).
+ Personally demonstrate, display and act in accordance with TTUHSC EP's Values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork). Serve as a Value's leader while actively promoting and encouraging staff across the institution.
+ Perform all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Minimal three year dental office experience and working knowledge of dental billing codes (CDT). Experience in a clinic or physician's office preferred.

Required Qualifications:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ A minimum of five (5) years of customer service experience of which two (2) years are in an of supervisory role
+ Experience in a clinic or physician's office preferred. OR At least three (3) years of experience at TTUHSC in the Patient Services Program, one (1) year of supervisory experience
