This position exists to assist with the coordination and planning of the activities for the MSRS defined contribution plan payroll processes for 900+ employers. This position assists employers regarding plan enrollment, payroll remittance, employer access to payroll remittance tools and the correction of payroll processing errors. Training and education regarding the proper administration of payroll contributions and the use of payroll remittance tools are also an integral responsibility of this position.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Assist with the coordination of the defined contribution plans payroll remittance processes between participating public employers and the MSRS record keeper;
+ Onboard Minnesota public employers new to participation in the MSRS defined contribution plans;
+ Serve as a resource liaison between MSRS and all Minnesota public employers and MSRS personnel regarding plan provisions, employer participation, questions related to plan contributions and defined contribution plan eligibility.
Minimum Qualifications
One (1) year of professional experience in communications, business, or closely related field

Three (3) years of technical/administrative experience in communications, business, or closely related field
A Bachelor’s degree may substitute for one year of experience; Associates degree may substitute for six months of experience.
You must also demonstrate the ability to:
+ Self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
+ Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to communicate to diverse members of the public, other state agencies, internal and external stakeholders, and management.
+ Demonstrated ability to read and interpret state and federal laws, rules, regulations, and plan documents that govern MSRS plans.
+ Adept at effectively handling difficult interactions with all MSRS constituency groups, including the ability to clearly state expectations and adjust, if possible, to the needs of the group(s).
+ Ability to use a personal computer (PC) and various software applications including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook, and internal processing applications.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Business, or related field.
+ Knowledge of the MNDCP plan rules, HCSP plan rules, and federal guidance/regulations regarding payroll remittance.
+ Knowledge of public pension plans.
