WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As part of the Nike Kids Product Testing team, you will be the testing point person for Performance and Expression projects assigned to you and will be working with Nike Kids Footwear Product Creation teams to test new innovative footwear. You’ll also work with young athletes across Toddler, Preschool, and Grade School ages to gain a better understanding of their needs and to capture their feedback. You will partner daily with cross-functional teammates in Development, Engineering, Marketing, and Design. You will collaborate directly with WHQ and Global teammates.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We’re looking for a Footwear Product Testing Analyst II to join our Kids Footwear Testing team at WHQ in Beaverton, OR! This role will be focused on all aspects of product testing. The winning candidate will need strong interpersonal skills focused on developing tester relationships. Exceptional planning skills and the ability to prioritize multiple projects is a must. Experience in conducting perception studies and knowledge of appropriate methodologies is preferred. This position requires the ability to effectively analyze data and present subjective feedback in a concise and understandable manner.
WHAT YOU BRING
+ Bachelor’s degree in Product Development, Human Sciences, Engineering, or related field preferred. Will accept any suitable combination of education, experience, and training.
+ 2+ years' experience in a professional working environment. Experience in footwear, product testing, development, marketing, engineering, retail, athletics, or customer service is a must.
+ Understanding of footwear components, materials, and inline production processes is a definite plus.
+ Strong capacity to analyze trends and make recommendations. Experience gathering and communicating consumer insights is strongly preferred.
+ Strong planning skills
+ The ability to prioritize multiple projects
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Experience working with athletes*, teams, coaches, empowering grownups, equipment managers, youth sports, and young athletes is a plus.
+ Dedication and excitement for working with our youngest athletes and their empowering grown-ups is preferred.
+ Comfortable with Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with spreadsheet database and statistical analysis procedures
+ Able to physically lift and carry items weighing 20 pounds.
+ Passion for sport is a plus.
+ Ability to drive/commute to different locations and flexible working hours is required as we often test after school and after traditional work hours.
+ Ability to travel up to 10% of the year domestically and internationally.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
A typical day is a combination of communicating and interacting with Athlete* Kid testers, empowering grownups, and coaches and collaborating with your WHQ counterparts, attending meetings with your cross-functional partners and managing prototype samples. Because we interact where our Athletes* live, work and play, at times you will be working away from the Beaverton office and outside of traditional working hours.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
+ Manage all aspects of the testing process including test planning, recruiting testers, conducting tests, analyzing data, writing reports, delivering results, and managing programs and relationships.
+ Work on both Performance and Expression Kids footwear.
+ Use your understanding of footwear’s manufacturing processes combined with your understanding of the athlete to offer suggestions to the product team regarding material, component, and construction options to meet the product’s performance goals.
+ Specify the performance issues that need attention prior to product going to production.
