Job Title: Lab TechnicianJob Description

Perform chemical and instrumental analysis on fuels, oils, and other lubricants using standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM. Conduct analyses on any new sample introduced. Prepare solutions or solvents for various tests; transfer samples within the lab; and maintain workbooks and equipment daily, weekly, and monthly as per SOP and TIP test procedures.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct chemical and instrumental analyses on fuels, oils, and lubricants.

+ Utilize standard testing methods as prescribed by ASTM.

+ Analyze new samples introduced into the lab.

+ Prepare solutions or solvents for various tests.

+ Transfer samples from one area to another within the lab.

+ Maintain workbooks and equipment in accordance with SOP and TIP test procedures.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a lab environment.

+ Proficiency in sample preparation.

+ Familiarity with MS Office Suite.

+ Ability to perform math calculations.

+ Basic lab safety knowledge.

+ Capability to wash and handle glassware.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ High School diploma required.

+ One year of college chemistry and math or one year of related laboratory experience.

+ Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs.

+ Training is provided through hands-on shadowing.

+ Recent associate degree in science and recent lab experience through school are preferred.

Work Environment

Work in an industrial lab setting with a focus on research on automotive products. The role involves exposure to fuel and oil smells. Shifts are Monday through Friday from 6 am to 3 pm, 8 pm to 3 am, and 3 pm to 11 pm, with occasional weekend work. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided. The position offers true analytical lab experience to help grow your career. The lab environment encourages learning and development through hands-on training.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.50 - $15.50/hr.
