Job Title: Welder
Job Description
We are seeking a Welding Specialist with a focus on advanced processes and automation. The role involves operating and optimizing various welding systems, including traditional, automated, and laser welding processes. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in welding and automation.
Responsibilities
+ Set up and operate various welding processes, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and laser welding systems.
+ Program and operate automated welding systems and robotic cells.
+ Configure and optimize laser welding parameters.
+ Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
+ Perform complex welding operations on materials such as steel alloys, aluminum, titanium, and nickel-based alloys.
+ Develop and optimize welding procedures for both manual and automated processes.
+ Monitor and maintain automated welding systems.
+ Troubleshoot automation equipment and resolve technical issues.
+ Conduct visual inspections of welds and assist with weld testing procedures.
+ Execute proper material preparation and fit-up procedures.
+ Provide technical feedback on weldment design and manufacturability.
+ Train and mentor less experienced welders in both manual and automated processes.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of professional welding experience.
+ Experience with automated welding systems and/or laser welding.
+ Understanding of robotic programming.
+ Current welding certifications as required.
+ Expertise in multiple welding processes and positions.
+ Strong knowledge of metallurgy and material properties.
+ Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
+ Experience with quality control and inspection procedures.
+ Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
+ Experience with PLC systems and automated equipment interfaces.
+ Excellent communication skills for interaction with engineers and team members.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience programming robotic welding systems.
+ Advanced knowledge of laser welding technology.
+ Experience with exotic materials and specialized welding processes.
+ in weld process automation and optimization.
+ Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new technologies.
+ Interest in additive manufacturing and new manufacturing technologies.
+ Experience in a precision manufacturing environment.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
