    Job Title: Maintenance Electrician

    Job Description

    The Maintenance Electrician is responsible for performing maintenance functions including repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic breakdowns under the guidance of the maintenance supervisor. This role involves planning, obtaining cost estimates, and executing projects, as well as troubleshooting and performing maintenance duties such as mechanical and electrical repairs.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform maintenance functions and repairs in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.

    + Plan and obtain cost estimates for projects under supervisor guidance.

    + Troubleshoot and perform maintenance duties including mechanical and electrical repairs.

    + Provide training in areas of expertise and respond to work orders submitted by employees.

    + Assist the supervisor in ordering parts and developing a preventative maintenance program.

    + Perform special assignments such as new equipment installations and preventative maintenance duties.

    + Participate and execute actions from the quality improvement program.

    + Support the installation of new equipment and facilities improvements.

    + Work safely by observing safety rules, policies, and procedures.

    + Maintain compliance with company quality systems and support audits.

    + Perform basic design and fabrication for repairs and process improvements.

    + Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in electrical and PLC troubleshooting.

    + Experience with electrical control systems and Allen-Bradley equipment.

    + Mechanical and repair skills, including preventive maintenance and conveyor maintenance.

    + Knowledge of electrical circuit troubleshooting, PLC, electronics, ARC flash, plumbing, steam and boiler systems, pneumatics, confined space, mobile equipment, and Mig and Tig welding.

    + Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical and electrical schematics, piping diagrams, and isometric views.

    + Ability to operate machinery or industrial equipment and systems.

    + Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and in tight spaces.

    + Minimum of four years of experience in an industrial environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 480 V experience.

    + Automation experience is a plus.

    + Mechanical Journeyman or Technical/Vocational Certificate preferred.

    + Ability to adapt to change and problem solve.

    + Ability to bend, squat, kneel, and climb frequently.

    + Ability to lift materials weighing 50 lbs to 70 lbs occasionally.

    + Candidates must complete a skilled trades non-technical and technical test.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is within a corrugated packaging company featuring a mix of older machines and new state-of-the-art technology. **Training will occur on the first shift for about two weeks, after which the schedule will rotate weekly between the first shift (7 AM - 3 PM) and the second shift (3 PM - 11 PM), working Monday to Friday and most Saturdays.** The facility is non-climate controlled, hot in the summer, and maintains a mild temperature in the winter due to the machines.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Richmond, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $69076.00 - $80225.00/yr.
