    Job Title: Forklift Operator and Material Handler

    Job Description

    Assist machine operators in setting up and operating production equipment, monitor machines during operation to ensure consistent quality and output, load raw materials and remove finished products from production lines, perform routine cleaning and maintenance of machinery, inspect products for defects and report issues to supervisors, maintain accurate production records, and follow safety protocols. Support other production tasks as needed.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate and assist with setting up production equipment.

    + Monitor and ensure quality and consistency during machine operations.

    + Load raw materials onto production lines and remove finished products.

    + Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance on machinery.

    + Inspect products for any defects and report issues to supervisors.

    + Maintain accurate and detailed production records.

    + Adhere to and follow all safety protocols.

    + Support additional production tasks as required.

    + Work with machines such as extruders, laminating, press, and slitter machines.

    Essential Skills

    + Industrial experience with knowledge of machinery functions.

    + Basic computer and math skills.

    + Proficiency in communicating in English, both verbal and written.

    + Ability to work well in a team environment.

    + Capable of lifting approximately 50 lbs.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in machine operating, assembly, and general production.

    + Experience with hand tools, mechanical skills, forklift operations, and packaging.

    + Capability to operate clamp trucks (training provided).

    + Demonstrated history of learning and applying new information and technology.

    Work Environment

     

    The position involves machine and forklift operating in a hot and loud environment due to rewind machines. Candidates will be cross-trained on multiple machines across different production lines. Available shifts include 2nd and 3rd shifts, with most 3rd shift positions running 12-hour shifts (11pm - 7am or 12am - 8am).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Doswell, Virginia.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00/hr.
