Job Description
The Computer Operator II/Data Collector possesses excellent customer service skills and has direct responsibility for successful interactions with customers, subcontractors and other key Government personnel. This position requires effective communication with the customers, as well as internal personnel and is in support of military testing data collection operations. The Computer Operator II will process scheduled routines that present few difficult operating problems (e.g., infrequent, or easily resolved error conditions). Data entry operator responsibilities include collecting and entering data and maintaining accurate records. Must have an eye for detail and familiarity with spreadsheets. Previous experience as a Data Collector or similar position will be considered an advantage. Duties and Responsibilities* Applies standard operating or corrective procedure in response to computer output instructions or error conditions* Refers problems that do not respond to preplanned procedure* Serves as an assistant operator, working under general supervision* Observe equipment operations and maintenance and generate detailed logs or notes which accurately represent system performance within the scope of the weapon system test and prescribed data collections procedures* Prepares source data for entry by compiling and organizing data* Enters data by operating data entry equipment i.e. computers, tablets and other devices* Verifies and balances data by reviewing and making corrections as needed* Completes data management by sorting, batching and archiving files* Prepares data results for further analysis by other team members * Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills and Qualifications* High School Diploma or equivalent * Two years of experience gathering test data on systems under test within any domain and environment * Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Suite and other software programs* Comfortable with and able to communicate effectively* Possess the ability to complete and deliver required work, with minimal supervision in a timely manner* General knowledge of weapon system test and evaluation process* Knowledge of weapons system operations and maintenance procedure* Travel will be required* Competencies include: Data entry skills, problem solving, analyzing information, typing, attention to detail, dependability, thoroughness, independence, and result driven* Must be able to work both as part of a team and independently
* Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short
notice, to support test missions Physical Demands and Working Conditions* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell* The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds * Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus* Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions to include intense heat, heavy wind blowing and, heavy rain and possibly snow* Must be able to climb in and out of military vehicles and related equipment* Must be capable of sitting and entering data on a computer keyboard for extended periods of time * Must be able to view computer monitor for extended periods of time * Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the duties and responsibilitiesTerms of Employment and Eligibility Requirements* Must be a U.S. Citizen* Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent* Must possess a valid driver's license, without special restrictions* Must pass a pre-employment drug screening * Must be able to successfully complete a background check* Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employmentThe lists above are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel in this position.
