    The Position

As a **Maintenance Planner/Scheduler** , you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run efficiently and effectively. Working directly with management and collaborating across teams, you’ll take charge of planning and scheduling maintenance activities to minimize downtime, optimize productivity, and ensure compliance with regulatory and customer requirements. From coordinating resources and materials to driving proactive solutions that enhance system reliability, you’ll be at the heart of operations while contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.     The Opportunity

     

    Working directly with management, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler plans, prepares, and issues work order schedules to ensure minimum downtime and maximum productivity. They advise management on material availability and potential scheduling issues to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Additionally, they plan labor, materials, services, tools, and obtain the necessary permits for maintenance personnel to perform work per regulatory or customer requirements.

     

    The planner understands and applies the fundamental concepts of maintenance planning and scheduling. They use intermediate skills and may develop advanced skills appropriate for the position, requiring some evaluation, originality, or ingenuity. The work is varied and can be somewhat challenging. The planner contributes independently or within a team towards a program or departmental goal or service and interfaces with internal customers and departments as well as external service providers. They may assist lower-level staff by providing technical advice and guidance. The planner is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

     

    • Reviewing all planned work requests for the assigned area and determining the validity and accuracy of information; engaging appropriate resources to set a preliminary priority.

    • Updating equipment database, spare parts, and bill of materials information as required.

    • Ensuring accurate data history for analysis and generating key performance indicators.

    • Assembling (kit, stage, etc.) work packages to the level of detail required to execute the work.

    • Working with the Spare Parts team to purchase or requisition parts and define min/max spare part levels.

    • Analyzing corrective maintenance work orders and generating proactive preventive maintenance activities.

    • Procuring service proposals and creating service work purchase orders, managing budget allocation.

    • Managing small CAPEX projects and/or major maintenance projects for technical facilities.

    • Escalating issues to the Technical Facilities Lead for work that is high priority and/or compliance-related.

    • Scoping jobs to obtain and organize all information required for crafts to perform work and to develop and continuously improve job plans (standard operating procedures, work instructions). This could include the time to perform the job, drawings, vendor manuals, supplemental instructional materials, special procedures, and other appropriate material.

    • Working with the Technical Lead to determine resource availability.

    • Communicating schedules to all resources: maintenance, production, outside services, stores, and engineering.

    • Keeping accurate metrics on the performance of planning and scheduling functions and providing timely reports to management.

     

    Managing reliability-based maintenance (creating team preventive maintenance for infrared, vibration analysis, lubrication, etc.).

    Who you are

    **KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES** **(required):** The minimum education, knowledge, experience, skills and attributes required to perform the essential functions of this job.

    + Associates degree in technical field, preferred

    + Apprenticeship program or technical school background, preferred

    + Knowledge of reliability based maintenance concepts, preferred

    + SAP Plant Maintenance experience

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Minimum 6 years related maintenance experience

    + Ability to build consensus and foster positive relationships

    + Ability to communicate across functional lines and at all levels

    + Problem-solving and project coordination skills and ability to exercise independent judgement in dealing with technical matters

    + Strong computer skills

     

    This position is not eligible for relocation.

     

    The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indiana is $65,100 - $120,900 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
