    Drs. Karen Adolph and Catherine Tamis-Lemonda in the Departments of Psychology and Applied Psychology at New York University are seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Associate beginning in November 2025. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

     

    Areas of research include infant motor skill development, infant-caregiver interaction, and the dynamics of body-environment relations. The lab uses behavioral and computational approaches and tests participants ranging in age from infants through adults. This position is expected to focus on two federally-funded research projects examining the social processes that underlie infants' expanding access to the environment and the influences of the contents and layout of natural home environments on the development of spatial and math abilities. The Postdoctoral Associate will be expected to design and conduct studies with infants and their caregivers both in the lab and in participants' homes.     In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $62,500-$90,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

     

    Per NYU's remote-work policy, this position is expected to be fully in person.

     

    This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

     

    Qualifications include a PhD in psychology or a related field and previous experience working in a research setting with infants and children, and experience in motor development. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects.
