    The role you'll contribute:

    The Medical Laboratory Technician II performs complex diagnostic and analytic testing of laboratory specimens, including blood and/or human biological specimens, in assigned areas as licensed/certified. The role demands the exercise of independent judgment under general supervision, necessitating a moderate to high degree of both theoretical and practical knowledge and expertise in licensed area(s). Work duties customarily involve various pre-and post-analytical work processes, depending on the specific campus and department, and may also require on-call hours. This position is pivotal in ensuring outstanding customer service and involves active participation in maintaining equally respectful relationships with all individuals. Analytical laboratory testing and interpretation of data are central to this role, highlighting the importance of a comprehensive understanding of laboratory procedures and the ability to interpret complex data accurately.

    The value you'll bring to the team:

    Performs pre-analytical activities including equipment maintenance, function checks, inventory control, specimen collection, biological specimen processing, cleaning and disinfection, quality control, and calibration.

     

    Conducts all expected tests and analytical procedures efficiently and accurately according to hospital procedures, performance standards, and competency standards.

     

    Participates in proficiency testing, adhering to federal and state regulations as well as hospital policies.

     

    Performs post-analytical activities including reporting results and providing technical and support information for all age groups.

     

    Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education for clinical staff.

     

    Participates in laboratory and hospital performance improvement activities, including evaluating new equipment and procedures.

    MLT ASCP, AAB, AMT
