The St. Peter Regional Treatment Center is looking for a painter to provide a full scale of services for surface preparation, painting, staining and applying other finishing systems to create a clean, professional and aesthetically pleasing environment. This position is responsible for inspecting interiors and exteriors of the campus buildings and grounds for necessary repairs and maintenance; must be able to work independently or as a team. The ideal candidate can schedule and manage jobs efficiently, with little disruption to the staff or patients at the facility. On a regular basis, this position may also coordinate and work with the building supervisor, different tradespeople, outside contractors and patient workers to complete projects.

Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet 1 of the 3 minimum qualifications listed below. Please ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.
1. Approved apprenticeship (6000 hours) in painting; OR
2. Three years of experience as a painter, including commercial or residential work preparing and painting a variety of surfaces; OR
3. One school-year of a vocational-technical or trade school painting program plus two years of experience as a painter, as described above.
MUST possess knowledge of:
+ The proper application of different types of finishing systems including but not limited to, primers, paints, stains, sealers, varnishes, epoxy, floor tractions systems and other building finish systems.
MUST be skilled in:
+ Operation of hand tools such as brushes, rollers, scrapers, sanders and screwdrivers.
A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE IS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Skilled in the operation of power tools such as spray guns, power sanders, drills, drivers, compressors and paint striping machines.
Physical Requirements
This position requires occasionally lifting articles up to 60 pounds and frequently lifting and/or carrying objects such as heavy tools, ladders, and equipment. Job may require walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain and may involve sitting, crawling, bending, and stooping with pushing and pulling of arm and/or leg controls. Ability to work in an environment which may include exposure to dust, noise, and occasional adverse weather conditions such as heat, cold, snow, rain and/or wind. Includes ability to climb ladders, and work at high heights.

Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) healthcare facilities require employees to provide documentation that they are free from tuberculosis (TB) through a blood test prior to employment. DCT does not accept TB skin testing.
