Job Description
At Teledyne Marine, we design the tools that explore and protect the world beneath the waves. As the **New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineering Manager** at Teledyne RD Instruments, you’ll lead a team of 8 engineers in developing advanced marine instruments like Acoustic Doppler Current Profilers (ADCPs) and Doppler Velocity Logs (DVLs). Your work will directly support global efforts in environmental monitoring, infrastructure development and maritime safety.
You’ll be responsible for driving innovation from concept to production—ensuring new products are delivered on time, on budget, and with exceptional quality. This is a hands-on leadership role where your technical expertise and strategic thinking will shape the future of our product line and engineering culture.
What you’ll do
+ Lead the design, development, and launch of new marine instruments aligned with business goals
+ Collaborate with senior leadership to define product roadmaps and long-term technology strategies
+ Oversee engineering processes and continuously improve development execution and quality
+ Manage department and project budgets, aligning resources with strategic priorities
+ Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team through hiring, coaching, and development
+ Coordinate cross-functional efforts with sales, operations, and customer support
+ Monitor project progress and report on R&D performance and tax credit opportunities
+ Resolve technical and operational challenges to meet delivery, quality, and profitability targets
+ Represent engineering in customer and internal stakeholder interactions
+ Ensure smooth transition of new products from development to production
What you need
+ Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering or related technical field - **required**
+ Strong leadership and team-building skills – **required**
+ Proven success delivering complex, high-reliability products on time and on budget – **required**
+ Hands-on experience in embedded systems, signal processing, or mechanical/electrical design – **required**
+ Experience with acoustic Doppler or SONAR technologies – **preferred**
+ Familiarity with acoustic transducer materials and manufacturing – **preferred**

Salary Range:
$113,600.00-$151,400.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate. Actual compensation for successful candidates is carefully determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, location, education/training, work experience, key skills, and type of position.
