The IT Strategic Planner supports the development, planning and execution of IT strategic and operational goals to ensure alignment with Emerson’s business objectives. This role is responsible for collecting and analyzing data, preparing executive-level presentations and providing insights that enable IT leadership to make informed and data-driven decisions. The position plays a key role in supporting IT governance, performance management and communication of IT's value to the business.
Ultimately, the IT Strategic Planner helps enhance CIO effectiveness, strengthen strategic alignment and foster greater engagement between IT and the business.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
+ Strategy Development
+ Support development of IT strategies in alignment with Emerson’s business
+ Identify growth and transformation opportunities to support strategic priorities definition
+ Strategic Planning & Execution
+ Drive the Annual IT Governance Cycle including the Annual IT Strategy Planning Session, Budget and Profit Review, IT Business Reviews, and other governance events to ensure stakeholders engagement and communication
+ Coordinate governance events by defining agendas, collecting data, preparing materials and enabling action plans to meet organizational plans and commitments
+ Work with administrative staff and local IT to secure the proper venues and mediums to facilitate effective meetings
+ Prepare strategic presentations, narratives and reports to translate high-level strategies into actionable plans and support IT leaders through those plans’ execution
+ Performance Management
+ Define and track strategic KPIs and OKRs for executive-level data-driven decisions
+ Help create trend reports and dashboards that provide insight into Emerson IT’s financial and operational performance
+ Hold bi-weekly communication session with the CIO to review the status of key programs and ensure accountability for progress across strategic plans
+ Research and Analysis
+ Conduct strategic analysis, market assessments, benchmarking, and scenario modeling
+ Research emerging technology and strategic themes
+ Stakeholder Engagement
+ Collaborate across IT Functional areas and Emerson Business to ensure consistent communication and alignment of priorities
+ Continues Improvement
+ Enable strategic processes, tools and framework for IT leaders’ effectiveness
+ Lead ad-hoc strategic programs

For This Role, You Will Need:
+ BA/BS in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field
+ 2+ years of relevant experience
+ Proven track record of effective collaboration
+ Builds and manages high performance, empowered teams
+ Passion for nurturing diversity and inclusion in Emerson
+ Leader of large scale, complex business process and / or technology change mgmt. initiatives
+ Excellent oral and written communicator
+ Ability to make sound decisions in complex, somewhat ambiguous situations
+ Capable of building support networks founded on trust and respect
+ Ability to optimize work processes through perseverance and innovation
+ Result oriented, personally driven leader
+ Legal Authorization to work in the United States – sponsorship will not be provided for this role
