Job Summary and Qualifications

EVS SUPERVISOR

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, incumbent is responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising the work of cleaning personnel to ensure clean, orderly and attractive conditions in the hospital. Assists the department director in planning, inspecting of and interacts with other departments.

EXPERIENCE:

+ Must have twoyears experienceas Environmental Services attendant.

+ Previous health care experience preferred.

+ Experience in supervisor or directing activities preferred.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

+ To make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

+ To supervise the successful completion of all cleaning duties and specific projects.

+ To conduct on the job training for new employees.

+ To maintain an inventory of cleaning materials, supplies and equipment, and prepare requisitions for replacement of depleted itemand those in need of repair.

+ Perform environmental services attendant's duties in their absence

+ To inspect and evaluate the physical condition of the hospital in order to improve sanitation, appearance and efficiency.

+ To instruct employees to follow safety programs.

+ To conduct inspection of all work related areas, assures completion of all work with high standards.

+ Performs daily patient room cleaning, dismissal cleaning, and Isolation cleaning

+ Completes the daily sign in log sheets

+ Assist others in Environment Service and Linen department.

+ Monitoring the computer bed tracking system.

+ Responds to telephone request, for related service.

EDUCATION:

Two years of college education and/or courses in Executive Housekeeping is desirable.
