    This position provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals to apply their technical knowledge in a supportive and collaborative environment. You will work closely with a team of experienced engineers, collaborating with many departments to ensure our customer’s satisfaction.

     

    In this position you will develop costing models for new product variants. Additionally, you will maintain and improve the product in terms of cost, quality, and performance. This is a highly cross-functional role, where you will need to coordinate best practices with other departments. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form to present information and respond to questions from various corporate functions and customers.

    Responsibilities

    + Examines customer supplied specifications to calculate cost and lead times for non-standard parts by utilizing provided programs and knowledge of the product line and internal systems.

    + Determines raw materials, components, processes, and resources required to fabricate new part configurations.

    + Identifies opportunities for product improvements and cost out through evaluation of manufacturing practices and assembly methods.

    + Identifies possible process improvements in the costing and quoting procedures to enable improved customer service and quality.

    + Determines disposition of non-conforming material using engineering judgment and knowledge.

    + Utilizes CAD software to develop product improvements. Performs cost analyses to justify changes, and coordinates activities of multiple disciplines to implement the changes.

    + May modify existing products and/or create new products for new applications. Utilizes knowledge of systems and may work directly with OEM’s to determine product performance requirements.

    Qualifications

    + Bachelors degree (BS) in an engineering. Professional entry level position. May have limited prior industry experience or have worked with direction in student internship programs.

    + Good math skills, and familiarity with personal computer and CAD software required.

    + Must possess strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities to work on projects without supervision.

    + Ability to communicate status of technical tasks and actions taken with clarity and precision.

    + Working knowledge of Microsoft Office required. Prefer lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEA, and quality systems experience.

    + While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and hear and is regularly required to speak. The employee must occasionally stand and walk. Specific vision requirements include close vision, and the ability to focus.
