Description
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• As needed Government tests involving climbing drum peels and lap shears. This involves setting up the machine and chart recorder for each test, preparing the samples for testing (cutting lap shear specimens, trimming excess adhesive, measuring and recording dimensions identifying the specimens for reference), running the tests, reading results and entering them into the computer.
• FLAME TESTS - Setting up flame test equipment, identifying specimens, running the tests, measuring results and entering the data into the computer
• 168 HOUR TESTS - Setting up the machine and chart recorder for each test, preparing the samples for testing (cutting lap shear specimens, trimming excess adhesive, measuring and recording dimensions, identifying the specimens for reference), running the tests, reading results and entering them into the computer in the appropriate worksheet.
• AIRBORNE PARTICLES - Taking a particle count reading in lay up an prime room, averaging results and entering them into the computer
• SOLUTION TEMPERATURES / WATER PURITY - Taking readings of rinse water and recording results and tank temperatures in the computer.
• TEMPERATURE / HUMIDITY / PRESSURE DIFFERENTIAL - Monitor and record levels in prime room and lay up room. Change and store charts from lab, lay up and prime room.
• SOLUTION ANALYSIS – Testing of aluminum concentration and acid concentration in the deox and anodize tanks and testing the alkaline concentration in the alkaline cleaner tank. It involves preparing the beakers, collecting the samples, maintenance and calibration of the pH meter and aluminum meter, running the tests, reading and recording the results in the appropriate charts in the computer, communication with PAA operator for any needed adjustments and clean up and storage of equipment and chemicals used in testing.
• MATERIAL TESTING – Testing of all materials for initial inspection or revalidation for conformance to specifications. Tests include: Visual, Resin Content, Volatile Content, Gel Time, Flow, Tack, Lap Shear, T-Peel, Thickness, Expansion, Density, Hardness, Compression Strength, Viscosity and Pot Life.
• MATERIAL CONTROL – Responsible for keeping track of time and temperature sensitive materials. This involves recording expiration dates, remaining shelf life, in-time and out-time and inventory of kits and materials in the freezer, lab, lay up room, prime room and shop floor. As many as twenty changes to this information may take place in a single day.
• WEDGE CRACK – Issue weekly test travelers to the PAA line and record the received results in a report. The report is automated to display averages and results for readings provided.
• OTHER ACTIVITIES – Include inventorying, ordering and stocking needed lab supplies, maintenance of equipment, cleaning the lab, checking the certification of received goods, issuing test travelers, printing labels, inventorying expired products, filing and organizing all certifications, purchase orders and test information.
• Ensure the integrity of the Quality Management System is maintained at all times related to quality assurance processes.
• Able to use gauges, measuring equipment and other detection methods to ensure product conformance

• This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

• Very good organizational skills and the ability to understand technical specifications. Basic understanding of material management and testing.
• Should have knowledge of Epicor software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED, prefer Associates degree in a technology/science based field Require a 1 years of experience in an Inspection environment. prefer direct composite testing experience of at least 1-3 years

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
