    Description

    We are looking for a meticulous Planning & Building Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Black Hawk, Colorado. In this role, you will support planning and permitting processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and providing exceptional service to community members. This position is ideal for someone with experience in urban planning or building permit administration and a strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

    Responsibilities:

    • Review and process planning and building permit applications, verifying accuracy and compliance with relevant codes and ordinances.

    • Provide prompt and attentive customer service to applicants, contractors, and residents, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

    • Evaluate submitted documents for completeness and ensure they meet established regulatory standards.

    • Prepare detailed reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate records to support department operations.

    • Collaborate with team members to facilitate the permitting process and enhance workflow efficiency.

    • Utilize software tools, such as Bluebeam Revu, to manage and track permit documentation.

    • Assist with data entry and administrative tasks to ensure smooth office operations.

    • Answer inbound calls and provide clear, accurate information regarding planning and zoning procedures.

    • Stay informed about municipal codes, building regulations, and planning policies to provide accurate guidance.

     

    Requirements • Previous experience in urban planning, zoning, or processing building permits.

     

    • Familiarity with municipal government processes and relevant regulations is highly desirable.

    • Knowledge of building codes, planning regulations, or permitting software such as Bluebeam Revu is a plus.

    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

    • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse stakeholders.

    • Proven capability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail.

    • Proficiency in administrative office tasks, including data entry and document preparation.
