Job Title: Sourcing Project Lead
Job Description
The Sourcing Project Lead is responsible for coordinating external supply chain activities from the project's inception through to its completion. The role involves maintaining the sourcing strategy and coordinating supply chain activities within the project team.
Responsibilities
+ Define and execute the external supply chain strategy with stakeholders according to project requirements and planning.
+ Prepare the external supply chain project plan focusing on strategy, schedule, and budget.
+ Achieve savings targets while satisfying project cost, schedule, and quality requirements.
+ Coordinate external supply chain activities with category managers for assigned projects.
+ Develop new suppliers and alternative sources of materials with a focus on best cost countries.
+ Participate in project planning, scheduling, and production control.
+ Maintain the project purchasing dashboard using standard tools.
+ Consolidate and validate budgets for sourcing, logistics, and quality.
+ Track project costs and time variances, taking necessary actions to avoid budget deviations.
+ Interface with project management and engineering to maintain material targets and sourcing resource requirements.
+ Identify critical and strategic suppliers with category management.
+ Focus on project objectives, including contractual conditions, purchasing budget, planning, and quality.
+ Anticipate available discounts and maintain committed budgets.
+ Set external supply chain planning for purchasing and delivery teams, ensuring consistency with overall project planning.
+ Collaborate within the external supply chain team to meet project milestones and deadlines.
+ Summarize external supply chain activities for the project.
+ Review project external supply chain budget and risk & opportunities matrix with stakeholders.
+ Ensure compliance with company procedures and processes.
+ Participate in BCC sourcing to optimize purchasing value.
+ Identify underperforming suppliers during the project life cycle.
+ Engage in Value Analysis and Kaizen blitz projects to improve sourcing.
+ Utilize company software applications such as SAP, Pyramid, DMT, Vault Document Storage, and Microsoft applications.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree.
+ 5 years minimum experience in purchasing, strategic sourcing, or supply chain.
+ Project Based Purchasing experience.
+ Strong negotiation skills with legal language knowledge.
+ Excellent written and oral communication skills.
+ ERP experience, preferably with SAP.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
+ Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
