Your role at Clorox:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Sustainability Manager to join our corporate sustainability team. This role will provide broad support across the team, including project managing the sustainability portion of our integrated annual reporting process and preparing disclosures for third party ESG ratings and rankings. The Sustainability Manager will also monitor emerging sustainability regulations and issues, support cross functional sustainability integration workstreams, and engage internal and external stakeholders to collect and validate data and translate complex sustainability topics into clear narratives that support the company’s reputation as a sustainability leader. This role will partner closely with Finance, Legal, HR, Sourcing/Procurement and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will:
+ Lead data collection, validation, and aggregation for voluntary and regulatory disclosures.
+ Project manage the sustainability portion of the integrated annual report; coordinate with sustainability data owners to ensure timely, accurate data submissions.
+ Prepare and submit disclosures to ESG/sustainability ratings and rankings providers, analyze ratings feedback and develop action plans for improvement.
+ Support process optimization and automation opportunities for sustainability disclosures and customer survey responses.
+ Monitor evolving sustainability regulatory requirements and reporting frameworks; translate implications into internal timelines, priorities, and action items.
+ Support sustainability-related regulatory workstreams and coordinate cross functional planning to ensure compliance with emerging disclosure obligations.
+ Conduct research and benchmarking on sustainability practices, trends, and stakeholder expectations; recommend policy or program improvements and proactively inform key stakeholders of emerging issues.
+ Engage internal stakeholders to gather high‑quality content and build alignment on sustainability priorities.
+ Respond to investor and customer sustainability requests and questionnaires; maintain FAQ and standardized response templates to streamline responses.
+ Develop clear, compelling communications and presentations for internal stakeholders including senior executives and board of directors as well as external audiences.
What we look for:
+ Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate sustainability/ESG reporting, data management, policy development, or related roles. Experience with voluntary and/or regulatory reporting and environmental inventories required.
+ Demonstrated experience managing multi‑stakeholder projects and working cross‑functionally with Finance, Legal, HR and senior leadership.
+ Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and standards (TCFD, SASB/ISSB, SBTi, CDP) and major rating methodologies (MSCI, Sustainalytics, CDP, etc.).
+ Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; comfortable working with complex data sets and translating them into reliable reporting.
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to create compelling narratives and presentations for diverse audiences.
+ Proactive, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
+ Proficiency with MS Excel and common collaboration/tools (SharePoint, PowerPoint). Experience with sustainability/reporting platforms a plus.
+ Superior interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships across levels and influence peers and senior stakeholders.
Workplace type:
Hybrid: This role will be based in Oakland, CA, and the individual will work onsite 3 days a week and 2 days remotely.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
•Zone A: $106,700 - $204,900
•Zone B: $97,800 - $187,900
•Zone C: $88,900 - $170,800

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
