• Zabbix Systems Engineer III

    Job Description

    A large telecommunications client is seeking a Systems Engineer III to join their team in Greenwood Village, Colorado! This is face paced and collaborative team that requires 4 days a week onsite and flexibility for 1 remote day. This is a long term contract offering 40-48 an hour depending on experience.

     

    This individual needs to be a SME in network monitoring tools, ideally in their current environment, Zabbix. This person needs to be a true NOC with a deep understanding in monitoring to help input devices into the software while also assisting and leading with plans, designs, and deploys for large scale complex systems. Some projects involve both software and hardware components so the ability to be able to evaluate the existing system and understand capabilities and recommend solutions is a must. 10 years of experience is preferred.

    Additional responsibilities will include the following:

    - Lead the design and deployment of advanced Zabbix monitoring solutions across diverse environments.

     

    - Develop custom templates, scripts, and integrations to extend Zabbix functionality.

     

    - Troubleshoot and resolve Tier 3-level incidents related to monitoring, alerting, and performance.

     

    - Collaborate with DevOps, Infrastructure, and Application teams to ensure end-to-end observability.

     

    - Optimize Zabbix configurations for scalability, reliability, and performance.

     

    - Maintain and improve Zabbix dashboards and reporting for technical and business stakeholders.

     

    - Conduct root cause analysis and post-mortems for major incidents.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    - 5-10 years of experience in systems monitoring and infrastructure engineering.

     

    - 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zabbix in enterprise environments.

     

    - Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).

     

    - Strong NOC experience - deep understanding of Linux/Unix systems and networking fundamentals.

     

    - Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
