    Job Description

    An employer is looking to hire a Geotechnical Project Engineer to sit in Nashville, Memphis, Chattanooga, or Knoxville (offering relocation). The Geotechnical Project Engineer manages and executes moderately complex projects, providing engineering and consulting services. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating detailed project phases, performing engineering analyses and design recommendations, and preparing proposals, reports, and cost estimates. The role emphasizes quality assurance, safety compliance, and continuous improvement while serving as a technical advisor to junior staff and supervising field and laboratory teams. Project Engineers interact directly with clients to define scope, communicate progress, and deliver findings, while also participating in business development activities. Additional duties include mentoring toward certification as an Authorized Project Reviewer and performing quality control reviews of proposals and technical documents.

    Skills and Requirements

     

    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Geological)

     

    5-8 years of professional geotechnical experience (leading large site assessments, logging samples, PM for on site work)

     

    Professional Engineer (PE) Registration Master’s degree in engineering preferred
