Summary:
As a Camera Engineer, you will be integral to the end-to-end image quality of RL Wearable products. This can involve driving enhancements through cutting-edge camera technology development, optimizing and tuning camera imaging pipelines, and conducting thorough image quality evaluations. You will be working on the cutting edge of wearable camera products, revolutionizing how we use cameras to perceive the world and capture memories. This role demands a "golden eye" with a clear sense for desired camera product outcomes, a "technologist" aware of the necessary technologies to achieve those outcomes, and a "problem solver" possessing engineering acumen to analyze and debug issues.
Required Skills:
Camera Perception Engineer Responsibilities:
1. Develop and refine image processing pipelines for camera systems
2. Lead perceptual and objective image quality studies to guide product and technology development
3. Innovate and implement algorithmic solutions to enhance camera product image quality
4. Create and improve tools, metrics, and workflows for the camera tuning process
5. Coordinate and communicate image quality deliverables to cross-functional teams
6. Contribute to and review the comprehensive camera system design
Minimum Qualifications:

7. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Image Processing, Color Science or a related field
8. 6+ years of experience in supporting Camera and Imaging development
9. Understanding of image processing techniques, ISP blocks, and mainstream computational photography or AI-based algorithms for mobile camera products
10. Proven track record to enhance product development processes through technology and tooling improvements
11. Experience in designing experimental methods and extracting data to answer complex questions
12. Demonstrated experience working effectively with a broad range of colleagues and partners, to drive impact

13. MS or PhD in Image Processing, Color Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
14. In-depth experience in Image Quality metrics
15. Extensive knowledge of image processing techniques, ISP blocks, and mainstream computational photography or AI-based algorithms for mobile camera products
16. Familiarity with human perception and statistical analysis, or relevant research experience
17. Proven track record to collaborate effectively across functions
18. Interest in photography and camera image quality
Public Compensation:
$139,000/year to $200,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
