    Summary of Job Purpose:

    The Senior Manager, Fleet and MHE Planning is responsible for directing a team to develop, execute, and optimize the annual Fleet Capital Plan for mobile equipment (Over-the-Road Vehicles, Mobile Material Handling Equipment, and Ancillary Support Equipment) for the global enterprise -- including the efficient, accurate, and timely tracking of fleet and MHE equipment, add-ons and interfaces from cradle-to-grave. In addition, this person will take lead on developing processes for effective data analytics that produce actionable information to enhance service, lower total cost of ownership, and improve uptime. This person will also manage strategic relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to implement short-term goals and long-term business strategies.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Understand Sysco’s comprehensive delivery operations and seek solutions to improve these functions by enhancing the use of all mobile equipment (~8,500 tractors, 10,600 trailers and 1,200 straight trucks)

    + Optimize the replacement planning for mobile capital equipment based on a customer-first model and total cost of ownership (~$250MM annual spend)

    + Continue to centralize the planning and to streamline the purchasing of equipment

    + Develop the FY mobile capital plan (including multi-year planning cycles), present to the Capital Committee for approval, and implement the plan according to any timing requirements as directed by the Committee

    + Determine buy vs. lease vs. rent requirements with Treasury and FP&A

    + In conjunction with Asset Systems and Indirect Sourcing, efficiently, accurately, and timely track mobile equipment from cradle-to-grave, including in-service and disposal hierarchy, as well as equipment pooling and staging for International Americas

    + Plan for the fleet of the future to meet company goals such as sustainability (e.g., alternate fuel vehicles), delivery (e.g., small delivery vehicles), and regulatory (e.g., CARB) meanwhile meeting vehicle availability, economic viability, and reliability requirements

    + Keep abreast of industry developments such as capacity, demand, lead-times, production availability, data industry trends, availability of upgrades to a system, etc.

    + Develop standard equipment specifications and an exception process for unique operating requirements

    + Develop and implement improved tools and processes for reporting and analytics that transforms disparate, ambiguous data into actionable information

    + Review, conduct and execute studies around equipment right-sizing, life cycles, total cost of ownership, return on investment, re-sale, environmental impact, lease vs. buy, etc. that will enhance Sysco’s Customer First model

    + Provide direction to a group of managers and analysts to ensure timelines and goals are met

    + Make hiring decisions and determine how each associate skillset will prove most productive for the organization

    + Performs duties and projects as assigned

    Required Education and Experience:

    + Bachelor Degree; MBA preferred

    + Must have experience planning a fleet of assets across multiple locations

    + 7+ years’ experience in fleet planning, analytics, and technology

    Abilities and Skills:

    + Good oral and written communication skills with ability to clearly and concisely provide information

    + Ability to plan and carry out assigned projects, resolve conflict, and coordinate work with others

    + Manage toward strategic and tactical goals with continuous improvement

    + Independently and proactively resolves problems.

    + Understands team dynamics and works well within team structure.

    + Advanced Microsoft Office skills. Advanced Excel and Power Point knowledge required
