    This role supports key sponsorships across various verticals—including sports, culinary, cause, and influencer marketing—by coordinating efforts across the organization, external partners, and American’s sports agency of record. As part of the Partnerships & Community team within the Global Engagement group, the individual helps ensure successful sponsorship activations on a global scale.

     

    What you'll do

    • Support in the planning and execution of brand sponsorships and activations

    • Collaborate with multiple internal departments, external partners and our agency of record to drive positive brand perception, preference and loyalty

    • Support activations that creatively blend the established brand presence of our partners with American’s

    • Champion the brand’s tone of voice in all marketing assets, including copy and creative

    • Take ownership of tasks/projects and proactively communicate next steps, timelines and potential issues to appropriate stakeholders – including during ambiguous situations

    • Project manage sponsorship-related campaigns from start to finish and develop ongoing results reporting

    • Work with the in-house legal department (and respective agencies/partners) to support the development of contracts/agreements for talent, ambassadors and influencers

    • Act with urgency and model sound strategic judgement to others including department and company leadership

    • Other tasks, as assigned

     

    All you'll need for success

    Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Associate’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related area or equivalent experience/training

    • 1+ years of relevant experience

    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

    Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Advertising or related area or equivalent experience/training

    • Experience in partnerships, sports marketing, sponsorships, community relations, events, corporate social responsibility and/or cause marketing with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders

    • Prior experience working with outside agencies

    • Knowledge and experience with planning and executing large-scale events and activations

    • Prior project management experience

    Skills, Licenses & Certifications

    • Creative, visual thinking skills with an ability to think “outside the box”

    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

    • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, under tight deadlines and with excellence

    • Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels within the organization

    • Some analytical and budgeting experience, with a desire to expand skills in this area

    • Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills

    • Ability to work outside traditional office hours including evenings and weekends as needed
